Why Lighthouse Bluff Airbnb Works So Well for an Intimate Michigan Wedding
Lighthouse Bluff Airbnb Wedding FAQs
If you’re dreaming of a Michigan Airbnb wedding with Lake Michigan views, a private lighthouse, and want a day that feels intentional, Niko and Maddy’s wedding at Lighthouse Bluff Airbnb is such good inspiration!
They had their first look at the top of the lighthouse, shared private vows, a beautiful winter ceremony right next to frozen Lake Michigan, and a cozy indoor reception inside. The whole day felt intimate, intentional, colorful, and romantic, with the sweetest personal details.
Watch their wedding film below before we get into the venue details. You’ll see the lighthouse first look, the Lake Michigan ceremony, the cozy Airbnb reception, plus a few still frames from the film throughout the blog!
If you’re planning on getting married at Lighthouse Bluff Airbnb, I’d love to film it. And if this is your venue, you’ll get 10% off your wedding videography package because I mean… look at it. I’m very much trying to go back!
Lighthouse Bluff Airbnb by Gathering Place Properties is located in Fennville, Michigan, right along the Lake Michigan shoreline. It’s close to local farms, artisan markets, wineries, and small-town West Michigan spots, which makes it such a fun location for a full wedding weekend.
It’s also in a really great area for guests who want to explore. Lighthouse Bluff is about 15 minutes from downtown Saugatuck and Douglas, and about 20 minutes from downtown South Haven. So you get the private lakefront Airbnb experience, while still being close to cute downtown areas, food, shopping, and things to do.
When it comes to weddings, Lighthouse Bluff is best for intimate days. The property can host up to 35 total wedding guests for the ceremony and reception, with overnight accommodations for up to 20 guests. So if you want a Michigan Airbnb wedding that feels like a cozy weekend getaway with your closest people, this setup makes a lot of sense!
One of the best parts of filming a Lake Michigan wedding is being able to show the location from above. Since I’m a licensed drone operator, I was able to capture Lighthouse Bluff Airbnb, the shoreline, and the lake views in a way that made their wedding film feel even more connected to the venue.
Drone footage is so great for a place like this because the property is such a big part of the experience. You get to see the bluff, the water, the trees, the home, and the way everything fits together. When your wedding venue is this cool, it deserves its moment!

One of the best parts about Lighthouse Bluff Airbnb is that it offers a full wedding weekend package instead of just a one-day rental. That gives couples more time to enjoy the property and actually be present with their people.
Their intimate wedding packages start at $10,000 and include exclusive use of the property for a 4-day wedding weekend. The package also includes overnight accommodations for up to 20 guests and access for up to 35 total event guests for the ceremony and reception.
Couples also get a personalized property walkthrough before the wedding, access to ceremony, reception, and gathering spaces, plus outdoor furniture, lighting, and setup support. The package includes 4 long tables, 35 wooden chairs, standard cleaning, and post-event turnover.
Basically, it’s made for couples who want their wedding to feel less rushed and more like a full Lake Michigan weekend with their favorite people! Getting to have that full experience is why I love intimate and adventure-focused wedding days like this!
Please note that pricing and package details can change, so be sure to check Lighthouse Bluff Airbnb’s official wedding page for the most up-to-date information.
Niko and Maddy’s day showed exactly why Lighthouse Bluff Airbnb is perfect for couples who want something intentional and truly connected to the outdoors. They started with a first look at the top of the lighthouse. Then they had their ceremony beside frozen Lake Michigan and a cozy indoor reception. Every part of the day felt so special and intentional.
During Niko and Maddy’s first look, there was something really sweet about the two of them seeing each other for the first time at the top of the lighthouse, with Lake Michigan all around them.
They also shared private vows, which is one of my favorite things to capture on video. You don’t just get to remember what the moment looked like. You get to hear the words again, the little laughs, the shaky voices, and the pauses in between.
Photos freeze a moment, but video lets you step back into it. And for a wedding day like this, that matters SO much!

Their ceremony took place right next to Lake Michigan, and truly, it was the perfect reminder of why West Michigan weddings are so special. It was a March wedding, and the lake was still frozen over with snow, giving the ceremony an unreal winter backdrop.
Lighthouse Bluff Airbnb has more than 200 feet of private Lake Michigan beach frontage. You’re not just near the water, the lake is part of the whole experience!
For wedding video, this kind of setting is so fun to capture. The frozen lake, the wind, the movement of guests in the space, and the wide drone shots all helped tell the full story of where the day happened.

After their winter ceremony by Lake Michigan, Niko and Maddy brought everyone back inside for a cozy reception in the living room right off the spiral lighthouse staircase. The space has 45-foot ceilings, warm wood details, a two-sided fireplace, and huge windows that look out toward the trees and lake.
It was the best kind of Airbnb wedding reception. Everyone was gathered close together, the space was warm and personal, and the whole night just had this relaxed energy that made people feel right at home. The reception details were so good too. Soft peach linens, candles, and little floral bud vases. The entire room felt so warm and totally wedding-worthy without losing that cozy Airbnb feel.
And when Niko and Maddy shared their first dance, golden light was pouring through the windows, and it was gorgeous! The room, the light, the music, and everyone watching around them made the moment feel so alive on video.
One of my other favorite parts was Niko’s sister singing for the mother/son and father/daughter dances, which you can see highlighted towards the end of their video at the beginning of the blog. Moments like that are exactly why wedding video matters so much. You don’t just see the dance happening. You get to hear the song, the voices, the reactions, and all the emotion in the room!

Lighthouse Bluff Airbnb is perfect for couples who want their wedding to be relaxed and connected to nature. It has the privacy of an Airbnb, but the views and experience of a Lake Michigan wedding venue. It really is the best of both worlds!
The home itself has so many spaces that work well for a wedding weekend. You have screened porches, a large dining area, a solarium, outdoor seating, and a living room that can become a cozy reception space. With the spiral lighthouse staircase nearby and large windows bringing in the lakefront setting, the inside of the home still feels connected to everything outside.
There’s also a private beach, kayaks, an outdoor fire pit, a custom Finnish-style sauna, and a 12 to 14 person in-ground spa. It’s easy to picture a full weekend here. Think coffee by the windows, time on the beach, and dinner with your people. The type of wedding day that never feels rushed!
